We told you the Marines are conducting experiments with a futuristic landing craft prototype called the Ultra Heavy Lift Amphibious Connector. Now, watch it in action.

In this demonstration video supplied by the company Navatek, half-size and quarter-size versions of the UHAC (which is big enough to carry 3 tanks at full size) conduct impressive maneuvers. The prototypes climb sea walls, launch directly into the water over berms, and maneuver through choppy seas at speeds of up to 10 knots.
Officials with the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab were in Hawaii earlier this month to conduct experiments with the UHAC much like the ones depicted in the video.
The UHAC will also be put through its paces at the Rim of the Pacific exercise this summer.

It look good for show. If an insurgent launchers rpg in the right spot they will be like ducks on a pond. The noise levels are also very high so that will take surprise out of the game.
Is this really supposed to replace the LCAC? This looks like a monumental waste of government funds. Especially, when we are downsizing all of the operating forces! I understand we are looking at possible future technology or capabilities but this vehicle is not a suitable replacement for the current vehicles!
Agree JRH why are we sinking millions of dollars of our tax dollars on this piece of shit. One good RPG or Mortar will neutralize this piece of garbage in no time. The US Government is a total fucking joke.
Uh huh. And inflating a raft around the Hummer and attaching a prop to the back was what??? Too undramatic???
Where is “the right spot”, anyway? Doesn’t every vehicle have a “right spot” for an RPG, really, for that matter?
Any data/anecdotal evidence on LCACs taking small arms/indirect fire, kids? Survivability/vulnerability? And ever heard an LCAC? Not exactly stealthy, are they?
This vehicle seems way too limited…. use a helo and an HST to get the same job done faster and easier!!! KISS!!
This appears to be nothing more than a very jumbo sized and more efficient version of the ARGO.
All that to transport a HMMWV huh. What a fucking joke. Were wasting millions of tax dollars to experiment with this totally ridiculous hunk of shit. Rather have that money go to MWR where the money can be used on our troops. You have to be suicidal to drive that piece shit into a hot beach head. “Get real” for fuck sakes. MCT please stop bringing attention to this money pit, it just pisses everyone off.
You can’t vertically lift tanks or the potentially new MPC.
The UHAC, like the LCAC, isn’t designed to storm the beach both are logistics connectors used after the beachhead is secured but the UHAC is carrying 3x the crap for the same size as well as having better traverse capability.
