It’s not every day that I learn a new word while searching for the latest and greatest Bored Marine Video. Today is one of those days.
Below, Marines with Combat Camera in Afghanistan perform “Don’t Turn the Lights On.” This is no Britney Spears jam, though. This song is originally by Chromeo, an “electrofunk duo.” And thus, the word of the day: electrofunk.
I have to say, this Bored Marine Video is a cut above the typical material.
Well lip-synced? Check.
Psychedlic undertones? Absolutely.
For the record, it appears these Marines are based at Camp Leatherneck, where they have amused themselves by creating videos more than once. Consider this recent, thoughtful piece on “combat landscaping.”
WOW! That Marine should be producing videos for a living! Well, uh…after his present gig that is.
I know the Marine who made this video—and he is extremely gifted!!!!! Awesome!!!
I made this video, …but I have no idea how it got all the way here. It’s amazing, one minute you’re bored and doing what you love doing, …6 months later you hear about it on the internet on the other side of the planet! Thanks everyone! I hope you all enjoy my boredom-inspired, creative outlet!
wow is right give me a break its sad people have time to do this while others fight eveyday and some die. what a joke
The video is gone. Ted Turner is kind of mean about his comment in my opinion. I love to videos from Camp Leather that are fun. It must be a big stress reliever to make films that are not battle films in a soldiers down time. I love the ones on you tube about “I’M HOT” and “WELCOME TO THE RESORT CAMP LEATHERNECK”. I cannot know what FOB my son is on, but I do know that Camp Leatherneck is the main base in Helmand Province Afghanistan and to see anything of what my son’s life there may be like is good for me. Don’t let the haters get you down soldier! You have a Army mom blogger here on your side.;)
Hey Army mom blogger, what kind of stress could this bored P.O.G need to relieve. Oh maybe he can’t make it to the chow hall twice in one hour give it a rest lady. by the way the only way you don’t know where your son is in a combat zone is he’s spec ops which is a small community or he’s not there.
